Pretty amazing that you have time to become an accredited Enneagram Instructor in the midst of lecturing, teaching, commentating on national t.v, national security matters, etc...? My guess is you must be an Enneagram type 3!

I have to say that for all the studying I do on behavior and personality, I would've come across Ennegram sooner. It looks up my alley. I'm going to do a deep dive on that now because I don't have enough other things to do and read. 😂😂😂

I just finished A Legacy of Ashes: The History of the CIA by Tim Weiner btw... A must read. I'm on Enemies: A History of the FBI, after that I'll be able to squeeze in more data 😂.

Yeah, I feel extremely fortunate to live in a region where the pandemic really didn’t exist - and, that I’ve been able to eschew taking on work in such places; That whole [thing] seems to be still messing with people, it’s sad.

You know, I’ve been wondering if you keep in touch with your old friend Miss Scarlet—we’ve only met once, briefly. But that was long enough to get a sense that she could wrangle some unicorns. Do you know if she’s single—would you be willing to set us up? You could add matchmaker to your list of achievements😂

"It’s convenient because this is also going to be my first stop as I flee to Canada if Trump wins again in 2024."

If Trump wins in 2024... Idi Amin threw out all the Indians one fine day from Uganda, I read somewhere. Trump test ran the concept with a Muslim ban in his first year!

The TX mass shooting reminds me of Pakistan's terrorism in India... radicalize young guys and hire them to do it with money for their families or something. Except this is domestic terrorism and the 'masterminds' are kind of known -- hint: they come from the R party (and all the different groups we are seeing popping up here and there in the US with faces covered, who is funding them?) but people are too polite or scared to go after them (instead they get a fancy profile in NYT or 60 minutes). I mean the media let the Rs off the hook for Jan 6. There was a slight window right after Jan 6th that the Rs were afraid things had gone too far and then the feckless media (our only megaphone) didn't do anything to hurt them -- no big blaring headlines, comparing what happened to things happening in poor, undeveloped countries, there were no big blaring headlines that Trump had gone too far, there were no big blaring headlines that this should never have happened in America! There was nothing pointing to the villains from the Republican party let alone shaming them for what they did. They are now burning this country down and media and good people with power and visibility are too polite, too docile, too civil, and they don't know how to correct course. And what about the voters who still voted for these mfers in 2022? If people don't vote straight D in 2024, this country is lost.

Any way to spread out the $150/year wine & fries subscription to $15/month? Really would like to get in on the enneagram chats somehow

Great roundup. I'm grateful all this rot, and rot in the making, is being uncovered, and understood by a small percentage of Americans. So much more is needed, and like you, I'm really not sure the US political/legal system is up to it. I would gladly welcome you as a fellow Canadian. BTW, I think I mentioned that Vermont is my happy-mind place too--when the weather's mild. I was a skier in my youth and certainly hit some slopes in VT. When I was a teenager, I attended a chamber music camp near Middlebury for two summers. I am still in touch with the folks who ran the camp; they're closely tied to the College. Last time I visited, the state had a cultural and artistic scene that far exceeds what its small population would suggest. Americans persecuted by fascist state governments should seriously consider relocating to Vermont. Eventually, charitable megafunds may need to be organized to help lower-income people flee from fascist states to acceptable ones. And the acceptable ones might eventually have to unite to form a new country or two. Certainly if Trump wins in 2024, the continuation of the Union as a single country should no longer be viewed as imperative.
