That's such an interesting perspective; for the festive season; 1, What do we do when the truth is perceived as lies; 2, and when lies are perceived as truth. Asha; Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year my dear lady.

Dear Asha -

As an analyst, I would say that the available information provides inferences only. The inferences are sufficient for me as head of the FBI to send some agents to question Trump. As a political historian, I ask you this question: You say there may be something in the Epstein matter to bring down Trump's presidency. Given the current Congress, Supreme Court, mainstream media, and election calendar, what evidence in the Epstein files do you think would end the presidency of a convicted multiple rapist? Or, for a different hypothesis, what evidence in the Epstein files do you think Trump fears personally and psychologically, even if it does not end his presidency?

I'm no analyst, but it seems to me that in either case, something that might cause Trump's presidency or sanity (or both) to implode might involve something I've wondered about since reading Virginia Guiffre's (sp?) allegation from years ago that at some point in her relationship with Donald Trump he had her (age @ 14) and a Latina girl (aged 12) pose as 'maids making out with each other' for his titillation. In this scenario, Trump walks in and and [redacted]. Interesting that no one seems to have been able to find out where the Latina girl is now. Is it conspiracy mongering to be curious as to whether she might have been disappeared? I worked as a counselor to street walking prostitutes, some of whom were as young as 12 in a specialty program at Johns Hopkins years ago. Many had been subject to rape, beatings, 'fistings' (look it up, too gross for prime time) and etc. At least one I know of was killed and left in a ditch at the side of a road. We know Trump is a sadistic bully. Not evidence enough for a conviction, but the harming and killing of prostitutes with impunity is a well known phenomenon. Just saying.

Leigh you make some good observations! Some of which brought me back to a job I had working with some women who it was alleged committed a heinous act and another whose eyes were blackened from being beaten. Both these women were able to communicate, recollect, etc. Cognitive functions. One would imagine an enterprising journalist is out looking to identify the Latina woman you mention. Or a second alternative may be that the woman who wrote about the Epstein criminal cases who is based in Florida st a local Florida newspaper may already know not only the Latina woman’s name, but also sadly, if it is the case and I have no idea but the Florida newspaper journalist may know what the Latina girl’s (now woman) name is and if she is alive or dead (many young girls who have these kinds of traumas die early from drugs to numb the psychic pain or other poor choices they may have made). Julie K. Brown of the Miami Herald is the name of the Florida journalist with extensive knowledge about epstein in general and the people he abused.

You shouldn't ask Asha those kinds of questions as she most likely has never worked a criminal case. Have you even once heard her speak out against what the DOJ, Trump and faux director Patel are doing to my beloved FBI? Most would be surprised at how many FBI agents use and boast of the title of Special Agent when they have never worked a criminal case and have sought jobs within the Bureau that preclude that. There are 100s, if not 1000s, that are administrators, coordinators, pilots, technical analysts, laboratory technicians, etc. that have sought advancement and distance from casework. Yet they proudly tout their FBI career.

Asha Rangappa's avatar

Are you new here? Pretty much all I write about is what Trump and Patel are doing to the FBI. Also, if you were in the Bureau I am sure you are aware that there is a counterintelligence division. That was where I was assigned. I have to be honest, whenever I see former agents (which I assume you are) denigrating others in the Bureau, particularly non-agents (who do critical work in support of the agency, be it support, intelligence, surveillance, scientists, pilots, linguists, or whatever), they are usually people whose own contributions don't speak for themselves.

Jeff Silverman's avatar

Welcome back Professor Rangappa,

I am suspicious of this self-described former FBI Agent Stiles. Anyone can claim anything in these substacks and everywhere else. Your articles speak for themselves. I need nothing to know who you are and what you’re made of as I saw heard and read you since first seeing you speak out loud and clear circa 2016. You don’t owe anybody anything. Your bona fides are clear and unambiguous. Whats also evident is your familiarity and collegiality with others in law enforcement in general, and the FBI specifically. I specifically remember seeing you and Phil Mudd on at the same time and his respect for you was clear. You give a ton of yourself already in all these substack articles and Freedom Academy interviews and prep articles. I hope I am wrong in my suspicions but I am originally from Boston Massachusetts and we have good noses for smelling BS. I can write boatloads about your work because I read and I listen. He can do the same. Enough on that.

I am delighted you are going to have Alexander Vindman on. I like and respect him very much. It was electrifying testimony he gave. We share some things in common and look forward to when you have him on. Welcome back and Happy New Year!!

Retired Special Agent Rangappa is free to check with her sources at FBIHQ as to whether my bona fides are legitimate. I will be happy to give her written permission to access my personnel file if she needs it.

Since I retired I have watched and continue to watch retired administrative types appear in the media with expert opinions and viewpoints. What is apparent is that having never worked a case, they fully utilize the Bureau's reputation as a way of enhancing their own. This reputation was created by thousands of agents who went before and after me working their tails off to put people behind bars, often risking their lives to do so. During my career I saw so many future FBI leaders that weren't happy with their assigned city. Their solution was to seek advancement so as to garner a transfer to the city of their choice. People would be very surprised to learn that to qualify for advancement one has only to raise his or her hand. The coordinators, liaison people, the legal experts, etc. never put themselves in harms way. Maybe Ms. Rangappa remembers the shootout in 1986 in Miami where two agents, one my friend, were killed and five wounded in bringing two bank robbers and killers to justice. The field agents are never called on for their expert opinion, gained with actual investigations, court appearances and testimony.

I am still waiting to hear about the FCI cases and the articles which criticize what is happening in the Bureau. By the way, I was born in Hartford and worked my way through UConn on $1/hr. jobs in the early 60s, back when we beat UMass and BU regularly. I do not lie.

Jeff Silverman's avatar

Glad to see that you don’t lie. If you are a real human being and not some sort of AI BOT you should be able to read Professor Rangappa’s biography. If you’ve heard her she speaks of cases she worked. If you are a real human being and not some sort of AI BOT you would know many of the *points* you think you are raising are not germane. Professor Rangappa was approximately 11 years old st the time of your Miami incident. Not relevant to Professor Rangappa’s time working at FBI. If you heard her or saw her in just one audio or video you would have ascertained that she was not, nor is not, some administrative β€œtype”.

One can only conclude you are not s real human being with eyes connected to your brain but are an AI BOT that is masquerading as a former FBI Agent. Its easy to say you’re a real human being and the FBI has records of your employment. Why wouldn’t they? Whoever programmed you, programmed you to identify yourself as agent XYZ. The acid test for me if its even important to anyone besides you and me is something more than β€œlook up my records”. In the big scheme of things perhaps we all will have AI BOTS in the future masquerading as former colleagues or family members asking questions that are easily answered by a real human being with eyes and ears connected to the person’s brain.

While in my career I met many agents who were proud that they had never testified in court. I testified hundreds of times in many, many venues. I declined advancement to continue working the core mission of the Bureau, convicting criminals of Federal Crimes. My cases led to 57 such convictions. I never had much respect for those that sought work with regular hours, the ones home with their families at the same time every night. I was a Watergate investigator, the one that located the vehicle containing the deposit slip that linked Nixon's inner circle to the burglars. I was lucky to get involved in big cases in Miami during the years where convictions were the Bureau's currency at budget time. I am a former Navy Vietnam-era helicopter pilot that evacuated wounded from the USS Liberty following Israel's intentional attack in 1967. Another agent and I started the FBI "air force" in Miami in 1972. You know the one that is now a stand- alone agency abused by "director" Patel. As an agent, I trained with 4 different commercial airlines as a full co-pilot in 727, DC-8 (2 versions) and the DC-10. I and many other former military pilots were to impersonate airline pilots to take back hijacked aircraft if they put down for fuel/crew change, etc. Instead of selling myself, post-retirement, I was security manager for a large Miami bank with 30 offices and facilities. I was there during Hurricane Andrew. I went on to be a licensed private investigator in FL and NC, working among other things, Federal Criminal Defense. I was a contract investigator for Diplomatic Security, U.S. Dept. of State, backgrounding Iraq and Afghanistan contractor hires. I have little regard for today's FBI, and especially organizations like FBIAA and the Society. They are both basically silent at what is being done to the agency which provided me with the proudest moments of my life. I was a friend to one of the agents killed in 1986 in South Miami and knew most of those wounded in the shootout. I think everyone should be hitting this administration every day for its outrages, its corruption, its venality and its lies. I have been on substack for about a year realizing it is the only "independent" source for facts that is left. I must have missed your critiques of the Bureau for what it has become under Patel, Bondi, Trump and the Heritage Foundation. I have been retired for many years and don't know anyone from today's FBI. Please send me some of your critical articles, I will enjoy reading them.

I avoid "conspiracy theories" and conspiracy theories in general. But Trump's erratic and panicked behavior makes even me think that there is something very damaging to him in this material. I'm surprised that it hasn't been leaked yet, but then there must be reams of material from his past that would also be embarrassing that hasn't leaked. Surely there are photos of him from his Studio 54 parties. Probably best to ignore this mess for now and enjoy the holidays. Best wishes for a better new year to all.

The Buddha warned us not to believe what we read or hear, even if Buddha himself said it, if it conflicts with our common sense and reason. Very few conspiracies will ever be within our power to affect one way or the other, either to stymie or facilitate.

When that all started I asked myself, β€œWhy should I or anyone with a 3-digit IQ care what’s on Hunter Biden’s laptop? No one’s elected him to a damn thing and he’s not running for office.” Only the biggest idiots in the GOP, like Comer and Jordan, actually kept riding that hobby horse. Pretty much all you needed to know to conclude there was nothing to see.

Love this. And your string board is awesome, it reminds me of Sherlock Holmes. I was able to concur two of my kidds birthdays that sandwich Christmas πŸŽ„, thats always a good feeling.

My only reservation is trumps attorney, who is in charge of the DOJ's releasing of the epstein files. My gut feeling is that any evidence of wrong.doing is long gone. What do you think?

Merry Christmas

Also, one of my best friends moved to sonoma.countynfrom Nepal πŸ‡³πŸ‡΅ πŸ’–, and he celebrates every holiday, both Hindu πŸ•‰, and Christian, jewish no matter what, its frankly cool to see. And he loves lights ✨️ 😍

Yo I’m so glad you are on vacation enjoying yourself because I know the stations would be hitting you up for commentary. Especially Abby. What you just wrote was so good and insightful. You have the gift of that. I tried to approach it from an evidence standpoint as well. As you know prosecuting once somebody lies that’s alot of guilt. And we’ve had a lot of lying here and stories changing. If this was about gang activity and somebody was releasing different parts and talking about other gangs what would we say?? See regardless of what gang the facts are that there was gang activity in an area. So pertaining to this. Always stick with the evidence. Why are they stonewalling releasing the files? Why are they redacting so much? Why are there 1 million extra files??? None of this adds up. People show guilt when they try to cover things up. That’s what bought watergate down the cover up. Nobody would be tripping or saying a word if they just released everything. So why aren’t they releasing everything?????? Also 10 co conspirators that’s the basis of where the focus should be who are they and who did what? Thank you again for brilliant reporting. You are the best.

Oh by the way Asha; i was chuckling to myself when they released the Epstein files and flight logs; i was in possession of the digital flight logs, until they disappeared from my files; you can guarantee the DoJ won't release those into the Public; those flight logs are shocking to read.
