UPDATE: Guest Speaker Schedule Change/Zoom Office Hours Link, 3 p.m. EDT TODAY!
With apologies for the change, due to a last-minute conflict with our scheduled guest speaker for today, Yale Professor Jacob Hacker, co-author of Let Them Eat Tweets: How the Right Rules in an Age of Inequality, I have rescheduled his talk for Tuesday, May 28, at 4 p.m. EDT. This works well, since I’m working on my lesson for next week about how and why we have become so politically polarized over the last few decades, which will actually provide a great background for Professor Hacker’s talk.
In the meantime, since some of you might have already set aside today at 3 p.m. for the guest speaker, I will do office hours instead today! We have lots to discuss. If you missed the last lesson on tribal behavior and group identity, give it a read or listen if you can — the latest parade of VP wannabes surrounding Trump at his trial this week is a great example of these dynamics!
