Your comment about the DOJ policy on investigations 90 days prior to elections as imposed on Executive branch only sounds spot on. That never occurred to me before. It does sound like that the choice to proceed or not proceed with a trial is indeed up to the Judge. Thx for clarifying this 90 day policy......
Everyone I discuss this with is of the same opinion. The foot dragging is indistinguishable from intentional stalling to protect Trump and his criminal co-conspirators. The safety rails we had naively believed were in place require government officials, especially prosecutors and judges, to do their duty with appropriate dispatch, something neither DoJ nor the federal judiciary have shown any inclination or ability to do. Whether it’s conspiracy or ineptitude makes little difference at this point.
