Excellent Asha!! I remember well when Special Counsel Mueller indicted Prighozin head of the Internet Research Agency in St Petersberg. He served up trolls bots and all malware extraordinaire. He served roger stones needs for trump here as well. He’s now instigating a real substantial coup d’etat in Russia. If anyone can do it and emerge as the next Russian mob boss it’s him. I don’t know what to wish for. I feel like Churchill in the 1930’s vis a vis Hitler versus Stalin. A hobsons choice. Or the Iran attack on Iraq. Let them fight it out weakening both sides of root for one over the other. Ultimately Churchill backed Stalin with the USA and it was the correct choice. Hmmmm....welcome home to USA if you’re already returned home. It was not the same without you the past week.👍
While President Biden -- as ANY other POTUS in US history except Trump would do -- consulted with NATO, G8 and other allies on developments in Russia, leaders of the Republican Putin Party issued warnings that the USA (e.g., CIA) better NOT be behind an attempted coup to remove Putin, perhaps because that may end Trump’s bid for 2024 reelection?
There’s a real desire to see bad news for Putin as good news for us, but this can lead to chaos with new players that we don’t have any influence over. Things can get much worse for the world.
From what I saw, the Russian push in Bakhmut, which was spearheaded by Wagner, was as much, if not more, about Kremlin power plays than actual strategy.
Additionally, when one lords over gangsters and psychopaths, it pays to show no weakness. None whatsoever.
