I noticed there is not a virtual option for the Autocracy in America — A Warning and a Response event. Can you make that happen? I would be happy to pay the $25 fee. Thanks

Have a safe and fun trip Asha. You’re heading to the only South American country on my bucket list.

I can't be in NY for the Autocracy seminar. If there was remote option I would gladly pay the $25

Looking through the Immunity opinion I can't seem to find a cogent explanation as to what exactly the majority is using for a basis of their decisions. I'm not aware of any language in the Constitution that defines presidential immunity. I don't know if there is anything in the Federal statutes on it and I doubt there is any relevant case law. I struggle to see how SCOTUS can righteously do their interpretative function on such a monumental case without some pre-existing legal basis or at least historical precedents. If one exists I'd like to know what it is. It appears the majority simply created this out of full cloth. This gives the impression that they are legislating from the Bench. It seems like the proper way to have proceeded was to reject the case and perhaps suggest that Congress decide if legislation is warranted. Or perhaps even planted the seed that an Amendment to the Constitution should be considered. None are quick solutions but at least would show that SCOTUS bases rulings on established legal text and prrecedents....and that none exists. I'm not surprised but I am disappointed.

Enjoy your vacation, Prof Rangappa!

Have a wonderful trip to Costa Rica, but keep an open eye in San Juan, and in people crowded areas, as street crimes do happen if you are not vigilant. Your FBI training should come in handy, and I do hope you'll enjoy the natural beauty of this tropical paradise.
