Mine was when Trump said "she's going to take away your guns" and Harris said both she and Walz are not going to take away people's guns. "Tim and I own guns." That was one the drop the mic moments I think.

A perfect reply... she could have added by asking him; "Do you own guns Donald?" Of course if his answered is that he did, he would be in a parole violation of his indictments! And if he claim he didn't ow guns, then her reply could have been: "Good that you are abiding by your court's order and Bail agreements".

The news outlets in Cleveland are just totaling up the bomb threats and other reactions in Springfield at the moment. It isn’t pretty. Watching my state’s junior senator double down on this has just been horrifying.

Thank you for the wrap-up. It is definitely a good time to study how disinformation is disseminated. And I love the term “useful idiots” to describe some of these so-called influencers. We’re in for a bumpy ride, so I’m glad to have you both helping to drive. Asha, I’m 79 now so your age is a fond memory—the best is yet to be!

Kamala Harris CRUSHED Trump. She actively WON the debate. She did not have a millisecond of weakness that predator Trump could seize on.

Trump was out matched in every phase and on every question. The moment Trump's entire persona as any sort of serious man collapsed when he started shrieking about pet eating people. It was utterly strident and completely unhinged. I wouldn't doubt that Trump actually believes that crap is true.

Trumped wanted some camera time and he basically spit insults and conspiracy theories the entire evening. He NEVER once addressed a question in its context.

As this t-shirt says: "Kamala removed stubborn orange stains" in the debate 👇 🤣

I expected Trump to humiliate himself in the eyes of any thinking person, but thinking people are increasingly a rarity in this country. And his supporters will not abandon him in any case. They didn't pick him for his smarts, more for his cunning and because he speaks their language and affirms their goals.

Given that the cost of higher education continues to explode and college students focus more on vocational prep, not a liberal education, I don't expect our situation to improve. The training required to think critically is being made more rare by the deliberate attempts to prevent its teaching that we see from the right. Also, as the 2025 Project has illustrated, something has gone desperately wrong with manhood in America when so many men of power and influence are determined to subjugate women via the power of the state. It is the sort of desperation and pathology I'm familiar with having run therapy groups for batterers, especially those who entered therapy under court order, not voluntarily, who frequently resorted to the identical justifications for their violence that we've seen from the Heritage Foundation crew in justifying their measures to demote female citizens.

Leonard Leo's vow to use his billion dollar slush fund to support only the most radical and uncompromising fascists makes clear this fight is just beginning. And he has at least fifty billionaires right there with him. I think if anyone thinks putting Kamala Harris in the White House will put an end to the lunacy, they missed the polling that showed how ready and willing the MAGA crowd is to engage in the violent overthrow of the government if they don't like the election results. We have elected officials high and low publicly refusing to say they will accept the peaceful transfer of power. I just hope the new Capitol Police chief doesn't order his officers to just slug it out with the insurrectionists like the last fool. Every other cop in America can defend their life with deadly force and it should be no different for those men and women.

Asha, one of my concerns relating to Trump / Russia (he always reminds me of Jan Brady getting flustered over her older sister Marcia, but instead saying "Russia, Russia, Russia") is one of the players who has contributed to this maelstrom but often overlooked: Rupert Murdoch. He has had five wives, first a stewardess he outgrew and another relatively unremarkable woman, but then it was his third named "Wendy Deng" who is a Chinese National, which I just thought odd. I perceive that one more of a marriage for power and access because it was out of step with the first two. Then he was divorced from her, married Jerry Hall, dumped her at some point in the last couple of years. It's the latest wife is the one that really underscores my suspicions is the current one, who is the former mother-in-law of oligarch Roman Abramovich, who owned the Chelsea United football team, and believed to be a buddy of Putin. I have no idea about Murdoch's state of mind, but I suspect he is still sharp, and knows what he is doing....staying out of the spotlight, but being instrumental in getting what the world's power brokers want: domination. Guilty by association? Considering how wealthy these people are, and how awful and unscrupulous, they DON'T make strange bedfellows. My guess is that the Intelligence Community is aware of this, but I haven't seen the media look into this (except when Googling it now, the intrepid People Magazine, which will uncover the favorite food recipes of the rich and famous).

Announcing his hatred of TSwift, to distract from his horrible debate performance and JD Vance's cat-gate, is a "strategy" I guess.

Now, this second alleged assassination attempt doesn't seem staged, but trump and his folks will amplify and fundraise off of it. And claim victimhood against the left who they will claim are encouraging this violence. They should look in the mirror.

I had intended to watch the debate but then woke up sitting on the couch once it was over; it is a shame we don’t have better candidates, the two seem (almost) equally horrible to me.

I’m pretty-much a single issue voter this time around. I can’t get past the fact that the Biden/Harris administration thought that it was a good idea to force an experimental pharmaceutical product on to/into the citizens of this country. Everything else just seems silly in comparison.

All of the Russia, Russia, Russia stuff seems silly and stupid too. Going back to 2016—Russia is our greatest adversary, Russia wants to sow division - Russia this Russia that. I haven’t seen or heard any of it really. I only see lunatic democrats and lunatic republicans providing that. Meanwhile, Russia, throughout the entire time period 2016 to present has been our best friend at the International Space Station: They transported us there when we didn’t have the means, they’re constantly sending supplies. They are there right now, with us, conducting cutting-edge research. But hey, we are at war with them I guess—whiskey tango foxtrot, as you say.

…and sorry to hear about your boyfriend if that’s true. I always figured you were married or something. Anyway, yeah, dating isn’t easy at our age to say the least, that’s for sure. It certainly can’t be easy for someone as smart and as gorgeous as you.

If I saw you out and about somewhere I’d probably be too scared to try to talk with you. Maybe I’d be able to muster the courage but who knows. Nonetheless, there’s no doubt that there is a paralipsis out there for you—so irresistible, so alluring that reflexive control ceases to exist

I gotta add another comment regarding the week that was. Regarding the debate, I was curious as to the polling. A couple of news articles, one the NY Times, placed an emphasis on some undecided viewers who feel that they didn't get any answers from Kamala Harris regarding plans. All I can say is that if someone is undecided, they have not done their due diligence and researched / read about Kamala Harris to form an opinion, and want to rely on two minute answers to some varied questions. I read a comment elsewhere about how Trump would be polling in single digits in more normal times. These people are confused by reality television and the dramatization vs reality of it all. He came out from backstage like Frankenstein''s monster, and Kamala Harris boldly walked across stage and made the first move, unafraid to shake hands. THAT is what I want to see in a leader. I couldn't watch this debate because the last one was already troubling in the first 90 seconds. This one unfolded somewhat as I expected. Even though I am minimizing my exposure to news at the moment, why would these undecided people want to vote for a man who makes up absurd stories about pet eaters? How can this be a serious Presidential candidate? And his little buddy J.B. (no names, please!) is promoting this as well. It tells me that a) these candidates have NO platform and need lurid tales inciting violence against others to bolster a campaign and b), the people who believe this tripe and want to support these candidates have nothing to do, and want an entertainer in the Oval Office. Best was how the Republican candidate was using artists' music at his events without authorization, and first Issac Hayes Estate sues him. Then, after trying to insinuate that Taylor Swift was endorsing him, and then playing her music at a rally, he forced her hand to say that she was voting Democratic Party, and shared a link to a voter registration site online. I don't follow her music, but she is an impressive person to do her utmost to stay above the fray, but has the backbone to stand up against the bat guano antics.

Considering the media myopia in this shitshow is the real tell in this US coup. It proves that the uber-wealthy are driving this agenda. It is an engineeered plan, no doubt, cooked up in the dark corners of Bohemian Grove and Davos, etc. This is a coup on democracy by the ultea-wealthy, plain and simple. Trump and MAGA morons are but mere pawns and useful idiots to be exploited. Question is, are we earnestly preparing for war in the US
